Three men from Texas received minor injuries early yesterday morning (March 2) when the Ford F-150 they were riding in traveled down an embankment and rolled over into Tarbett Pond, off Rt. 3023 (the Nicholson-to-Dimock Road) in Lathrop Twp.
Driver Richard Wheat, 28, and passenger Keith Fisher, 35, were removed from the vehicle by members of the Nicholson and Hop Bottom Fire Departments.
Passengers Adam Garza, 26, and Wesley Wymore, 18, were able to exit the vehicle and call for help, said police. Garza was not injured.
Wheat, Wymore and Fisher were transported to Community Medical Center, Scranton, for treatment.
The men were traveling north when the right side wheels left the roadway and went into a snow bank. The truck continued another 210 feet, according to police, before going down the embankment and into the pond.
Tpr. Michael D. Lohman investigated the 2:40 a.m. crash. Wheat was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
The truck was removed from the pond by Clark's Towing, Factoryville.
