Monroe reports playground damage

Monroe Township supervisors noted at their Monday (Feb. 1) meeting that extensive damage occurred at the Beaumont School playground recently.
Approximately 50 feet of fence and hardware were damaged by an unknown assailant. If anyone has any information regarding this damage, please notify the Pennsylvania State Police in Tunkhannock.
Chas Mead reported that house numbers and road names for Wyoming County may be ready to go by the middle of the summer. House numbers and road signs are reportedly completed; however, no positive dates are available to put this project into operation.
George Zinger, township zoning and construction officer, has notified the supervisors that because of health reasons, he will be unable to fulfill the requirements of this position. Jerry Woods was appointed to fill this position as of March 1.
Resident Edward Freeman asked how many supervisors had cell phones being used and paid for by the township. Walter Derhammer responded that he was the only supervisor using such a phone.
There were no responses from local contractors regarding equipment rentals.
Those residents that have not replied to the Landlord Registrations will be referred to the township attorney. The township received a software grant and thus Quick Book/Payroll software will be updated according to Secretary-Treasurer Arlene Traver.
